Most insurances take 30-60 days, though it can be longer or shorter.

Yes, under specific circumstances! Some insurances allow therapist associates (LMHCA, LMFTA) and social work associates to bill insurance. In most cases, you’ll include your supervisor’s name and NPI on claim forms as a supervising provider. Each insurance has slightly different requirements, though, so be sure to check before you get started. If this is something you’re interested in, I can help!
Premera, Regence, and Kaiser Permanente have all published policies that cover billing for associate providers. This is where you can find them:
Regence — Their policy is a bit different from the others, in that it uses “incident to” billing.
Kaiser Permanente (Scroll down to “Associate Level Mental Health Care”)

CAQH is the database that insurance companies use to verify your credentials. The profile is around seven pages, and it asks for information about your education, work history, and practice location. You’ll also need to include three references. If you don’t know how to answer some of the questions, just do the best you can, and we can go over it together. I provide a thorough proofreading of the CAQH (and other documents) for my credentialing clients to make sure everything looks good before submitting it to insurance.
